Straight answer first: our handmade Mole king size bed — solid mahogany with a full hand-woven cane headboard — starts at GH₵ 16,800. A queen platform bed starts at GH₵ 12,500 and a double at GH₵ 9,200.
What you're paying for in a king frame
A king mattress is 183 × 198 cm, and the frame around it carries two people, every night, for decades. That means proper hardwood rails, a centre beam with legs (the part cheap beds skip — and why they sag), and slats thick enough not to bow. Our bases are slatted kiln-dried hardwood: no box spring, no squeaks.
Where king-bed money gets wasted
Ornate imported headboards in veneered MDF cost king-bed money and survive one Accra humidity cycle. If a "wooden" king bed costs less than the mattress on it, the wood is the problem. Ask what species the rails are, and whether there's a centre support — two questions that separate furniture from firewood.
