The fine print

Terms & Conditions

Thirty years of handshakes taught us to keep terms simple. Here is how ordering, paying for and caring for an Odum piece works.

Prices

Our prices are published in Ghana cedis (GH₵) on every catalogue piece. Made-to-order pieces show a “from” price: the final price depends on your chosen size, timber and finish, and is confirmed in writing before any work begins. Published prices are ex-workshop; delivery and installation are quoted separately. Written quotations are valid for 14 days.

Placing an order

From the catalogue — choose a piece as shown, or ask for it in a different size, timber or finish.
Custom commission — bring us a drawing, a photo or an idea; we design it with you and confirm every detail before cutting.
From the showroom — visit us on Spintex Road, buy finished pieces on the spot, and take them home or have us deliver.

Every order is confirmed with a written invoice describing the piece, timber, dimensions, finish, price and lead time. We build to that confirmation unless we receive written changes within 48 hours.

Payment

A 50% deposit starts a made-to-order piece (70% for commercial projects); the balance is due on completion, before delivery or collection. Deposits cover timber and labour committed to your piece and are non-refundable once cutting begins. Goods remain the property of Odum Furniture until paid in full. Showroom purchases are paid in full at purchase. We accept mobile money, bank transfer, cash and major cards.

Changes & cancellations

Ask for changes in writing as early as possible — before cutting we can usually accommodate anything; after cutting, changes may cost extra or not be possible. Cancelled orders forfeit the deposit in proportion to work done.

Lead times

Most single pieces take 4–8 weeks; full rooms and commercial projects are scheduled individually. Your confirmed lead time is on your invoice. Solid wood will not be rushed — it is the reason our furniture lasts.

Delivery

We deliver and install across Greater Accra and arrange transport nationwide. Costs depend on items and location and are quoted with your order. Tell us about stairs, lifts and narrow access before we load the truck, not after.

Inspection, returns & warranty

Please inspect your furniture on arrival. Damage or defects present at delivery must be reported within 48 hours. We repair or replace manufacturing faults on solid-wood structure for five years — the same promise the workshop has kept since 1996. Natural variation in grain and hand-finish, and wear from use, accident or neglect, are not defects. We do not accept returns for change of mind on made-to-order pieces.

Caring for your piece

Keep solid wood away from direct daily sunlight and air-conditioner airflow, wipe with a slightly damp cloth, and oil or wax once or twice a year. Our Journal carries full care guides for every timber we use.
