How Much Does a Sofa Cost in Ghana? (Real 2026 Prices)

15 July 2026 · Efua Mensah · Price guides

Sofa prices in Ghana are famously opaque — quotes swing wildly depending on the showroom, the salesperson, and honestly, your car. Because we publish our prices in cedis, we can give you real numbers.

What a handmade solid-wood sofa costs

From our current catalogue: a compact two-seater starts at GH₵ 10,900, a full three-seater from GH₵ 14,500, and an L-shaped sectional from GH₵ 19,800. Those are made-to-order prices for kiln-dried hardwood frames with natural linen upholstery.

Why prices vary so much in the market

The frame is the price. A solid odum or mahogany frame costs several times more than stapled softwood — and lasts decades longer. Foam quality is the second lever: high-density foam keeps its shape for years; cheap foam is a two-year cushion. Fabric is third — imported velvets and leathers can add 20–40%.

Cheap sofa maths

A GH₵ 4,000 imported sofa that sags in three years costs more per year than a GH₵ 14,500 handmade one that serves fifteen and can be re-upholstered. In furniture, the second cheapest thing you can do is buy well once.
